Food Safety is an integral part of our operations at J. Durbin Farms. We strive to safeguard the pureness of our product for our customers. This includes not only growing, harvesting, warehousing, packing and shipping our product but also includes employee training. Food safety and quality control is the responsibility of all the employees of J. Durbin Farms and its affiliated service and product providers.
J. Durbin Farms incorporates Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) throughout our operations. This guarantees that the finished product meets the highest standard of quality that our customers have come to expect. We have successfully been certified with USDA GAP/GMP Audit, Global Market Program. We are currently working on our Primus certification.
Through a series of complex operating procedures, schedules and record keeping J. Durbin Farms ensures our Food Defense Plan and Food Safety Plan are carefully followed.
Strict sanitation procedures and schedules are followed daily in the fields, the packing shed and during transportation to your local stores. Documenting chemical use, water tests, worker training programs, sanitation, and equipment maintenance helps J. Durbin Farms produce a safe superior product for the consumer.
Traceability is a huge component of Food Safety. J. Durbin Farms is able to trace its produce from the local store shelf back to the day it was packed and shipped, to the person that picked the produce and back to the field it was grown in. J. Durbin Farms annually tests its Trace Back and Recall Program to verify its accuracy.
